A Message from our Pastor, Rev. Deborah Kauffman
Welcome to the Epworth United Methodist Church website. I am glad you have chosen to spend a few moments looking around our site and discovering our church family. Some of the things I appreciate so deeply about Epworth are our commitment to follow Jesus by engaging in meaningful, intergenerational worship and Christian education opportunities; our intentional connection, support, and involvement in local, national, and world-wide mission; and our emphasis on prayer in church and throughout life.
We have an active prayer chain and lay visitation team. This means we love people inside and outside our church through generosity, invitation, and compassion.
Personally, I have experienced this love, care and spiritual growth during the past two years I have journeyed with Epworth as a Pastoral volunteer.
I am a second career, ordained United Methodist Pastor, with twenty years serving several churches and as a hospice chaplain. I grew up in New Jersey and lived there until I moved to Bethlehem in 2005. I am the parent of one son, three daughters and two daughters from a blended marriage. Nine grandchildren keep me on my toes and enrich my life. I live with a young chihuahua-cattle dog mix rescue, Brooke. I also enjoy kayaking and am working on being able to stand up on a paddle board. I enjoy living in Bethlehem, love visiting the farmers’ markets, the historical downtown book and antique shops and the proximity to the Delaware River and mountains.
If I can be of any help in your spiritual journey, please contact me at the church.
Thanks for visiting our website!
Grace and Peace,
