Epworth United Methodist church believes that the children, youth and young adults are a vital part of our church family.  We take pride in the fact that many of our activities are intergenerational.  All leaders have taken part in Safe Sanctuary training and keep their clearances up to date. The children’s Sunday School program is open to all children from 3 years through post-high school.   Our Children’s Program takes place during our worship time except on the Communion Sunday (first Sunday of the month) where children attend the worship service.

Our nursery is open each week for children through age 2.  Our nursery caretaker is part of our church staff and has been safe sanctuary trained.  The children hear a short story each week, sing songs as well as play.

While in our Nursery, our Pre-schoolers hear bible stories, sing songs and see bible related videos.

Out Children’s Program is for children in Kindergarten through Grade 5.  We use the Deep Blue One- room Sunday School curriculum.   At Home with God helps families grow in faith together as children take what they’ve learned in Sunday school and dive deeper into the stories at home with their families. Children will explore families in the Bible, learn how today’s faith families care for children as they grow, build loving relationships, and find out what it means to be part of God’s family!

Based on the award-winning Deep Blue Kids Bible, this awe-inspiring resource incorporates adventure, exciting stories, science experiments, arts and crafts, animated video storytelling, and active games into a living-faith experience that will help children discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ today!

Our youth program is open to all young people in Grades 6 through Grade 12.  The Youth Group meets the first Sunday of each month from October through May from 12:00-3:00 P.M.  Our youth participate in bible studies, worship and mission work    Each year our youth attend a fall retreat and, on some occasions, have attended additional retreats as well as summer camp.   This year our youth will be having a retreat in the spring at Ocean Grove Camp Meeting at the Jersey Shore. Many of our youth have attended summer camp as well as participate in mission work both local and away.

Youth Hangouts take place the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.  Our youth are broken up into three groups; Senior High Girls, Junior High Girls and Junior/Senior High Boys.  Youth Hangouts give our youth an opportunity to relax, talk and build relationships, share their thoughts, feelings and ideas in a safe environment.

Post High School

We at Epworth have recognized that Christian education shouldn’t end just because you’ve graduated High School.  We have begun a program for High School graduates through young adults to about 25ish.  The goal of the program is to continue to nurture each other to grow our faith.  The group meets periodically at Barnes and Noble to hang out and talk about their new life experiences.
